Social Networking is all the rage these days.  We have a torrent of websites: Myspace, Facebook, Friendster; just to name a few. Some are good, some have become bane of the internet <cough>myspace</cough>. Now Google (GOOG) has decided to jump into the frey hand in hand with Yahoo as a major player.

Google OpenSocial is ’supposed’ to be a very open framework to build web applications on. Much like Facebook’s extensible framework, except actually open and it wouldn’t require one to be logged into one social site in-order to use the platform.

Jailbroken iPhone permission problems – possible fix

Quick update about the iPhone … seems that even though the iPhone is jailbroken and unlocked, there are several problems. The major and most annoying problem is with permissions.

The fix with SummerBoard was rather simple:

  # chmod 775 /private/var/mobile/Library/SummerBoard

Now, that worked great for ’some’ of the themes. I remember there was another folder for the themes. The old one, or the new one … don’t remember which is which. So, the fix is several part:

  1. Find where the themes/addons/whatever for Summerboard (or any other program your having trouble with)
  2. chmod 775 them all

           # chmod 775 /the/path/to/the/folder

Do that for all of the  theme folders and it should work. Just a thought, I haven’t tried it yet. When I figure out some of the paths, I’ll post em

Great news for all you piano players out there, more sheet music! Well, I guess it’s nothing new but it’s new to me. I’ve added several links to FREE, I repeat free sheet music for the piano. There is sheet music there for other instruments but since I play the piano that’s what I mostly found stuff for.

Hope you enjoy free goodness. Heh, and they told me there was no such thing as free in this world.

I don't think WP SEO is all about just the 'SEO'. I'm rather sure a good part of it is the actual design of the page. Of course the keywords, tags and everything like that is important. Though it's also important how the site looks.

If it weren't the case, no one would ever change their design. Also, you would never hear such a thing like "The new site redesign increased our conversion by 15%". Thus, looks have to be a important and integral part of SEO.

So what makes a good SEO design? That is a darn good question. I'd sure like to find it out. Until I know how, I'm going to go by the idea that functionality is the most important aspect. Also, I'm looking at some of the blogs from the top marketers and trying to integrate their designs into my blog.

Hope this turns into a nice business venture. Yey for 'another' social media platform that we'll have to use.
