An Apple From Poland

When traveling to or from another country, especially to America, it’s always nice to bring gifts. Actually, it’s rather customary in my family to do so. There are people who prefer very materialistic things such as diamonds, trinkets, or nick-nacks. I, on the other hand, prefer simpler things: food! And not just any food, ‘good’ quality food.

So what did I get? A glorious, round, red, scrumptious fresh apple. And boy, you aint never seen no one scarf down a apple that fast before. Who knew that even the food quality was extremely high overseas! Now all that’s felt are happy memories and a happy tummy.

Sure I also got some “good” towels, some pj’s and a book … but who cares! Nothing will ever beat great food. So to all of you people traveling overseas, if you want to make a man happy: the fastest way to a man’s heart is through his stomach (and not with a spear, gun or blade please).

IPRO Day at IIT

I graduated from college less than a year ago and yet I can’t really keep away from it. Kinda sticks on you ya know? Well, there is a bi-yearly event called IPRO day at IIT. During IPRO Day every IPRO (Interprofessional Projects) team shows off their semester work. This includes a booth to present to the public, a presentation before a panel of judges, document to show what was done, a website (not required but ‘recommended’ if you catch my drift), and what not.

Many teams put up a simple poster board booth and nothing extra special. Others, go well out of their way to give a stellar performance. It’s these that I like to check out.

So, as usual since I left … I came back to practice my photography. Many fun, images await those who seek IPRO Day 2008 photographs. For free! And if your wondering, I took all those images myself. And yes, a lot of them have poor lighting. I didn’t feel like taking a tripod with me so any dark pictures were blurred due to my shaky hands. Go and check out the images!

Songbird .5 Redux. | Fairly biased review, part 1.

After a short struggle with Songbird, Jan Leger of Songbird was kind enough to point me in the right direction to get it working. For those of you keeping track, I’ve ranted about reviewed Songbird before: here and here. It’s now time to give Songbird .5 a nice run for it’s money. Let’s see if this new version can stand up to my high level of expectation. (Click here to read an explanation of how I review stuff)

Again, here I’m using the standard interface without any changes for this review. Why? As explained in a previous review, you don’t go around saying how great a Honda Civic is just by looking at highly modded Civics. Onto the review, hit the more button for my thoughts and impressions of this darkly colored bird.

I don't think WP SEO is all about just the 'SEO'. I'm rather sure a good part of it is the actual design of the page. Of course the keywords, tags and everything like that is important. Though it's also important how the site looks.

If it weren't the case, no one would ever change their design. Also, you would never hear such a thing like "The new site redesign increased our conversion by 15%". Thus, looks have to be a important and integral part of SEO.

So what makes a good SEO design? That is a darn good question. I'd sure like to find it out. Until I know how, I'm going to go by the idea that functionality is the most important aspect. Also, I'm looking at some of the blogs from the top marketers and trying to integrate their designs into my blog.

Hope this turns into a nice business venture. Yey for 'another' social media platform that we'll have to use.
