Recover Files Using A Linux Knoppix Live CD And TestDisk We’ve have all experienced the dread, pain and anguish of turning on our computer only to have it tell us our there some monstrous hard drive error! Something went wrong, now Windows wont boot, Linux refuses to start due to path errors and you have no clue what went wrong since nothing changed!

If you find out there is a problem with the hard drive and you can’t (or don’t want to) get into your operating system, try out Knoppix. A Linux live cd which boasts a plethora of goodies to help you recover those documents your boss wanted, or the pictures of your children.

So what is a “Live CD”? A Live cd is a cd which you can boot your computer from. To do this, you will usually have to go to a boot menu during boot. This can be ‘usually’ accomplished by pressing F9 while your computer starts up, during the part where it beeps. It can be any other key or combination, as this varies from manufacturer to manufacturer. On my laptop for example, it is F12.  This will bring up a simply menu asking which drive (or device) you wish to boot from; select CD-ROM (or similar).

Once Knoppix starts loading from the CD, sit back and relax while Knoppix loads. This may take a while, so go grab a cup of tea. It’ll help you relax as well, I know how a threat of data loss can strain nerves. Read more

Redesigning The USA Dollar, Dollar ReDe$ign Project

The US Dollar has always held it’s down in terms of design. It has changed over the years but nothing significant. When the Euro was put into circulation is was tauted as a great design that is pleasing yet efficient. It is easy to recognize and hard to fake.

Most countries also have a greater range of currency. The United States only a rather limited range of coins and notes which are:  $0.01 coin, $0.05 coin, $0.10 coin, $0.25 coin, $.50 coin (very rarely used), $1.00 coin (even more rare), $1.00 note, $5.00 note, $10.00 note, $20.00 note, $50.00 note and $100.00 note. There is a $2.00 coin I believe, but it is very rarely used … if it even is real. So, that makes a total of 12 possible ways to pay, with the 1cent coint being pretty much useless and used only as a cookie jar filler.

I don't think WP SEO is all about just the 'SEO'. I'm rather sure a good part of it is the actual design of the page. Of course the keywords, tags and everything like that is important. Though it's also important how the site looks.

If it weren't the case, no one would ever change their design. Also, you would never hear such a thing like "The new site redesign increased our conversion by 15%". Thus, looks have to be a important and integral part of SEO.

So what makes a good SEO design? That is a darn good question. I'd sure like to find it out. Until I know how, I'm going to go by the idea that functionality is the most important aspect. Also, I'm looking at some of the blogs from the top marketers and trying to integrate their designs into my blog.

Hope this turns into a nice business venture. Yey for 'another' social media platform that we'll have to use.
