iPhone 3.0 Full Jailbreak and Unlock

iPhone 3.0 Full Jailbreak and UnlockThat’s right my friends, the iPhone 3.0 firmware is jailbreakable (no surprise) AND unlocked! Yup, you read it correct. The iPhone 3.0 firmware is fully unlocked so you can use it with any carrier you wish in any way you want (more or less). The iPhone Dev Team really did a number for us this time. Shortly after 3.0 release they have it down.

All the credit doesn’t go to the Dev Team though. The maker of the original 2.2 and 2.2.1 (sort of) unlock software yellowsn0w has introduced UltraSnow. UltraSnow, like it’s predecesor yellowsnow unlocks the firmware for you. Gizmodo has a detailed guide on how to do so here. It’s not complicated at all. Here as the simplified steps:

  1. Plug in iphone
  2. Update iTunes to 8.2
  3. Update iPhone through iTunes. I did it this way because it guarentees a clean update without issues. Though, you might lose some data so make sure you have a backup you can restore (data restore, but FULL restore) from later.
  4. After update, turn OFF the iPhone.
  5. With iPhone OFF and plugged in, turn on refsn0w. Point redsnow to the files it needs (3.0 ipsw and the two bootloader files).
  6. Follow instructions on the redsnow screen about how to put iphone into recovery mode (and stuff).
  7. Get tea and enjoy unlocked iphone

One huge tip I recommend, this was a problem in the past. I’m not sure it is one currently though. BEFORE unlocking put the new sim card into the iPhone and jailbreak/unlock with it in the iPhone.

One other solution is to use QuickPwn. Their blog recently changed and are not followers of redsn0w as well. Be sure to check it out as well.

Don’t forget: redsn0w to jailbreak, Ultrasnow to unlock. And UltraSnow has to be (and can only be) installed threw the iPhone.

Good luck and have fun being on a freed iPhone!

New Wave Of Spam From ds4ns1ns2.cn (89.28.14.35). Blogger Beware!

Photo from Brett's Site http://brettduncan.wordpress.com/2007/08/17/blog-spam-crock-or-compliment/

Spam is a ever hated beast in this world. It is the prostitution of all that is good on the internet. Worse than a cockroach and sticks more than a garbage dump. Just like anything evil in this world, the more you try to kill it the stronger it rebounds. Fear not though, there are way to get around many of our spam problems.

For e-mail, there are solutions like Gmail with built in social-spam-detection, as I call it, Bogofilter, Spam Assassin, Razor and many more for e-mail. For Word Press blogs we have the almighty collaborative spam detection plugin: Akismet.

Blog’s have been riddled with spam from all sorts since the beginning and I highly doubt that we will see an end to it anytime soon, but we can fight it. Akisment currently stands at the #1 WordPress commend spam solution. It is free for personal use. Free as in beer, and just as tasty. If you run a WP blog, you will almost certainly need Akismet unless you want a spam LolZ cat “inside youz Blog, spammin joo commentz”.Though, lately things have been changing it seems.

Spammers aren’t dumb, they spam for a reason. It profits them in one way or another, thus they keep doing it. Or they simply way to disrupt systems, annoy the crap out of people or get revenge … who knows. So, why I am I already telling you something you already know? Because ‘they’ are changing tactics, and they are doing it fast.

A little while ago I recieved a comment from a “Andrew Boldman” who seemed like a nice person. Let me a rather nice comment saying “I really liked this post. Can I copy it to my site? Thank you in advance.” Honestly, I was estatic that someone commented and wanted to use some of my content. I threw a ceromony, threw a party and almost made a press release. And then another comment soon after from “Kelly Brown” saying how much she “really like[d] [my] post”. By the Gods! I have commenters. I was on my way to success … or so I thought.

Soon I received another comment, and then another. And I began to ask … huh, why all of a sudden? As I looked over the comments I noticed something strange, all of the e-mail addressed ended with “ds4ns1ns2.cn”. Well that’s a little bit strange, maybe a firewalled area where they all have to send out using one service? Seems just a teebit odd. I checked the IP … all from the same IP: 89.28.14.35.

And that’s when I knew it … it was spam. All these nice comments and spam. So, where is this comming from and why? Several ideas flow around but one rather good theory goes like this, as stated well by Mark Brain on the Warrior Forum. He said:

It’s possible that they are testing sites which will accept spam or those without moderators to control the spam. After that they will have a list of the sites that are “spam havens” then begin posting the actual links.

A simple google search for “ds4ns1ns2.cn” reveals a plethora of spam details about this. The first page results are loaded with spam complains and details from these people:

Learn To Have Better Handwriting With A Fountain PenWriting with a fountain pen can be different at times, but as you become more used to the pen (and the pen to you) you will notice that maybe your handwrighting could use a little improvement. No worries, there is no need to buy expansive books or products. A little self-discipline and training is all you need.

The good people at The Fountain Pen Network have a really great forum post about just this. It’s short, it’s simple, it’s easy and it doesn’t take much effort only a bit of time. The training is simple as I said. All you do is write sentinces using the whole alphabet. And yes, that’s it. Nothing more. Just do it over and over. Eventually you’ll get the hang of how your hand moves and how it should move along with the pen.

So check out the post “Handwriting Aids and LINKS to lesson sites & other helpful sites, various helpful topics including manuscripts to view” for a plethora of information about hand writing with your handy dandy fountain pen.

If you have any tips for writing better drop them in the comments.

I don't think WP SEO is all about just the 'SEO'. I'm rather sure a good part of it is the actual design of the page. Of course the keywords, tags and everything like that is important. Though it's also important how the site looks.

If it weren't the case, no one would ever change their design. Also, you would never hear such a thing like "The new site redesign increased our conversion by 15%". Thus, looks have to be a important and integral part of SEO.

So what makes a good SEO design? That is a darn good question. I'd sure like to find it out. Until I know how, I'm going to go by the idea that functionality is the most important aspect. Also, I'm looking at some of the blogs from the top marketers and trying to integrate their designs into my blog.

Hope this turns into a nice business venture. Yey for 'another' social media platform that we'll have to use.
