Come one, come all. Gather ’round an’ listen to me tale of lore, truth and booze. Thank you all who came to the party last night. All of you made it a fun success. I also have to apologize for the small food mix-up. Even with that things went smoothly. Thankfully no one died, the house is still standing and I’m only short one wine glass! WOOT! A lot better than expected. What I’m really amazed at is that the 360 didn’t burn it/short/break. Luck +1 for me.
Again, thank you everyone who showed up. I was honestly surprised by the amount that actually came. What is it, nearly a dozen people? Hmm, next time I’ll have to setup some lighting and chairs in the backyard so that people won’t have to sit outside in the front yard, on the grass or cement. Guess I’ll also have to get a bunch of those anti-bug things that Tony has huh? Hopefully they aren’t too pricey.
Thanks of Michal and Peter (The Elder) we had some good piano music for a bit. Yes yes, I know. My keyboard sucks, horribly … I know. I plan to get either a A) real piano for X-mas or B) a ‘real’ keyboard. Though it might be a good idea to get one sooner. Having a keyboard of only 76 keys is rather annoying since some of the songs I try to play require keys that aren’t there! All in all though, even with the crappy keyboard we had some good music.
As for food, I ‘was’ planning on cooking for people … though after more people filtered in that turned into a very bad idea. God thank the inventor of the oven and frozen pizza (for us meat lovers). Also good thing that Giordano’s is open late! Yey. It’s a good thing we had more pizza. People seemed to gobble up the supreme pizza, the plain cheese and the sausage. As of this writing there are four slices left of the veggie pizza! Common you veggie eaters, you were supposed to eat it all! Stop worrying about your figures when at a party. The pizza can’t be worse than the large amount of alcohol that was consumed.
Speaking of alcohol … we sure drank a lot. Well, at least some of us did. I know the bottle of Goldshloger (sp?) is mostly gone; the plain vodka bottle is kinda just sitting there taunting me … we’ll have to have at it next time; the cherry vodka is almost gone. I’m actually intrigued by some people’s responses to the home made stuff. Here I thought a lot more people would drink it, I’ll have to get more Polaks in here next time. We know the good stuff! Home made vodka and some good ol potato vodka will go a long way (as Becky, Norbert, Joe and I can attest too).
Now what’s really interesting is how the party split mostly in twain early on. The guys sitting around playing on the 360 or Wii, and the women outside smoking, drinking and talking. Never expected that to happen, though I actually never expected most things that happened to happen. Just goes to show you how a little planning and setup can go a long way at a party since most people organize themselves anyway
.
Thanks once more to all who came, and those who didn’t (you know who you are!) you better come next time!
Cheers,
–PK

I was also at the party, in spirit. And in many ways you should be thankful for it. Not only is an almost invisible spirit far less annoying, but he also finds it far more difficult to drink Peter’s home made cherry vodka. I can only presume the party was a riot, and Peter will feel my wrath one of these days for organizing it after my departure. But in retrospect, it may just be fair – after all, I just keep taunting him with all the Polish women.
*Peter looks down at the broken wine glass* … I doubt you could do more damage than a bunch of drunken women. And don’t you worry about the Polish women, I’ll be there soon enough to steal my fair share of birdies.
