Basic Firefox addons/extentions

by Piotr Krzyzek on March 19, 2008

We all love Firefox … not. But the point is that it’s pretty darn good, and yet not good enough. So how do we make Firefox a product beyond all others? Simple: addons!

Here is a list of addons everyone should have in their Firefox:

  • Foxmarks (registration required for it to work)
    • saves all your bookmarks to their server. You can also synchronize with all your other computers.
  • ColorfulTabs
    • Simply prettiness for your tabs.
  • Download Statusbar
    • Shows you the status of your downloads in the status bar instead of the pesky download window.
  • Ablock Plus (haven’t tried it personally, but I was recommended it by a good friend)
    • Blocks ads. What more can I say about it?
  • ScribeFire
    • Blog? Wait why am I asking! Who doesn’t? Great tool to help you blog from the comfort of firefox and post to many if your blogs at once if need be! It’s simple, fast and blogolicious
  • PDF Download
    • Mostly for Windows users. Instead of forcing you to open PDF’s inside FF, it asks you if you want to download, save or whatever.

For the web monkey in us, here are some tools to help us code:
