An Apple From Poland
When traveling to or from another country, especially to America, it’s always nice to bring gifts. Actually, it’s rather customary in my family to do so. There are people who prefer very materialistic things such as diamonds, trinkets, or nick-nacks. I, on the other hand, prefer simpler things: food! And not just any food, ‘good’ quality food.
So what did I get? A glorious, round, red, scrumptious fresh apple. And boy, you aint never seen no one scarf down a apple that fast before. Who knew that even the food quality was extremely high overseas! Now all that’s felt are happy memories and a happy tummy.
Sure I also got some “good” towels, some pj’s and a book … but who cares! Nothing will ever beat great food. So to all of you people traveling overseas, if you want to make a man happy: the fastest way to a man’s heart is through his stomach (and not with a spear, gun or blade please).

Social Networking is all the rage these days. We have a torrent of websites: Myspace, Facebook, Friendster; just to name a few. Some are good, some have become bane of the internet <cough>myspace</cough>. Now Google (GOOG) has decided to jump into the frey hand in hand with Yahoo as a major player.
Google OpenSocial is ’supposed’ to be a very open framework to build web applications on. Much like Facebook’s extensible framework, except actually open and it wouldn’t require one to be logged into one social site in-order to use the platform.

For those of you who haven’t heard yet, there was a nice blizzard today (Friday March 21/08) in the midwest. Reports are coming in that there are over 350 canceled flights in and out of Chicago Ohare (ORD). No matter how you look at it, that is a rather substantial number. Flying these days is already a big hassle with idiot TSA officials, faulty duct-taped planes, and overzelous flight agencies; canceling 350 at the US hub of United airlines and one of the major airport is just something else.
Thankfully, here I am in Indianapolis for a few days. So I get to laugh at family and friends back in Chicago who, sadly, get to have all the sun in the snow without me. Hopefully there will still be enough snow tomorrow when I drive back.
Snow + AWD = drifting goodness.
