Facebook Privacy Settings

by Piotr Krzyzek on February 26, 2009

Facebook Privacy SettingsFacebook has become a hugely popular social website. It touts a monstrous 175 million users which includes some very prominent people, but mostly people like you and I. With that many users there are bound to be some issues that arise.

One of the biggest problem (socially and legally) is the problem is users privacy. Do you keep information open to everything or only to contacts, do you delete information when a user deletes the profile or do you keep it for historical reasons? How about managing who views what? These are questions which plague all social sites. Facebook has taken many large hits in this area as it has some different rules, as we’ll call them, than other sites.

So what can you do to protect your information on Facebook? AllFacebook.com has compiled a very good list of what you can do. They outlines some of the basics that people should know (like setting your privacy levels) to some interesting tips which some of us may not know about, like using a Friends List.

Hopefully with these settings you can lock your profile nice and tight so that no unwanted soul see’s your information (or party pictures).
