Facebook’s App Static FBML is pure awesome sauce. With it you can add pure html to a custom named tab. Also you are able to make the tab the first thing they view when they click on your fan page! How cool is that?
Adding such a tab is easy at adding the Static FBML application, editing it, and then adding it as a tab. In the video, I said I’ll show you how to make it the first thing anyone views on your page … but I messed that up and couldn’t find it in the heat of the moment. Right below the video I added the steps on how to make the page the first thing viewers see!

To set the Static FBML tab as the primary tab, follow these quick steps:
- Click over to “Edit Page”, thus you’ll be at your pages settings.
- Under “Wall Settings”, the 2nd option from the top, click “Edit”.
- Change “Default Landing Tab for Everyone Else:” to your Static FBML’s tab name.
- In the case of the video example, I would select “Sign Me Up!”.
- Check your fan page from another account which is not a fan of the page.

This is a great tutorial. I've always wondered how they were doing that. I still haven't created my fan page yet, so at least now I know how to get the optin box in there without having to do a lot of research. Thanks Piotr!

I need your useful advice to upload two or three charts from a website. Do I have to use the Static FBML or the FTML?I am a bit confused with all that stuff. Those chats do not have moving parts (if thats helps you to understand me). And also i don’t know what to do with all those algorythms n the Q Basic language. Need you help please….

I can help you out. e-mail met at piotr.krzyzek [at] gmail.com and we’ll talk more. Though what you need is the Static FBML App and a bit of html in order to include some images, as far as I understand your problem.
Search on the internet for “html include images” and you can use that code inside of the Static FBML tab to make it show up.

Hey Dan,
I’m not exactly sure what you’re asking. If you’re asking on how to get a youtube video into a lightbox? Well, then that takes a little bit of javascript. A lightbox is nothing more than a little bit of code which displays some content. Sooo, instead of a picture or text in a lightbox, just toss in the youtube embed code.
