- Write in English, not Jargon.
- Use specific, concrete nouns.
- Pick action-packed verbs.
- Avoid fluff.
- Find the right pitch.

Pretty good points to go by. When you read the full descriptions and explanations on the site it will make a plethora more sense. It’ll be a good idea to print out the list and keep it close for future refence.
One thing that is mentioned that I believe needs to be emphasized: Drafts. Use drafts. They will help you weed out bad sentences, catch misspellings and greatly improve your tone in the paper. I don’t know of any great speech in that was completely ‘off the top’ of anyones head. Good things take time and preparation.
